Start with the Drawing - Part I

The process of creating a narrative oil painting begins with an accurate drawing of the composition. In this video, I cover the process of drawing the two central figures for this painting.  In part 2, I'll draw in the background around the figures to complete the composition.

Materials used:

24x19 inch Strathmore Bristol drawing paper, Vellum finish

Faber Castell 2H graphite drawing pencil (pencil holder for short pencils)

Prismacolor kneaded eraser

Razor blade/Exacto knife and 200 grit sandpaper for sharpening pencils
