Beginning Work on Another Reading-Themed Composition

I really like working with the theme of reading as a gateway to imagination.  I started working on just such a composition today.  I've got the foreground all drawn out.  I think with this one I will juxtapose the scene playing itself out in the boys imagination into the background, leaving the boy, his book and the couch as a vignette in the foreground.  As drawn, this would transfer straight across to a 16 x 12 inch panel, but depending on what I end up putting in the background, I may  bump it up to 30 x 18 to allow room for more background. This is a fun way to work.  I have a loose idea of where I want the painting to go, and now I can play around with as many ideas for the scene as I like until something clicks.
