More “Free Will” Commission Underpainting…

I'm making slow but steady progress on the underpainting for the 'Free Will' commission painting. The sky is just about worked out. I think I'm almost happy with the transition from blue skies with dramatic, but friendly clouds on the right to dark, stormy, and definitely unfriendly skies on the left. Two very different areas of smoke remain to be painted. On the left, smoke rising from fires that should not be burning. On the right, the column of smoke and fire on which the rocket is rising into the sky. Then it's on to the landscapes.
